Hello Doctor, I am a 24 year old male experiencing persistent knee pain along with occasional hip discomfort. I initially consulted an orthopedic doctor who advised me to do exercises, but there was no improvement. I then visited a rheumatologist who prescribed SAAZ 1000 mg, Zycel 200 mg, and administered a Solumedrol injection. The pain subsided for a while, but after about a month, it returned. I had stopped all medications by then and went back to an orthopaedic doctor, who prescribed Mexate 7.5 mg once a week. My blood test showed that HLA B27 is positive, but all other parameters were within the normal range. I am now confused about whether this is spondyloarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, I have a personal concern, I masturbate daily, and I would like to know if this could have any effect on my joint or knee pain.

HLA B27 positivity may suggest a type of arthritis called spondyloarthritis. It is not uncommon and can be managed with regular treatment and exercise. Daily masturbation does not affect joint pain. It is best to continue follow up with a rheumatologist for the most accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

I was found HLA B27 positive last week. I have been experiencing back pain for one year and cramps in both legs. My doctor (MD, BAMS) prescribed the following medicines: Rabewal LSR (rabeprazole sodium 20 mg, levosulpiride 75 mg) BD before meals Saaz (sulfasalazine USP 500 mg) BD Gabaxon (methylcobalamin 500 mcg, gabapentin 300 mg) Half tablet BD Soft P (nimesulide 100 mg, paracetamol 325 mg) BD Wysolone (prednisolone 5 mg) BD Lasilactone (furosemide 20 mg, spironolactone 50 mg) Half tablet OD Is this the correct treatment for my condition?
