Hey, I've been experiencing joint and muscle pain that seems to move around my body. Every morning I wake up feeling really stiff and achy, but after some light exercise, the pain usually eases off. It gets much worse during the winter months, and honestly, the pain becomes unbearable. I'm pretty sure this all kicked off when I was around 15 years old. Could you suggest what kind of specialist I should consider seeing?

You may benefit from seeing a Rheumatologist. They specialize in diagnosing and treating conditions that affect the joints, muscles, and bones. In the meantime, you can try taking over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen (e.g., Advil) as needed for pain relief.

I'm currently taking Methotrexate 5mg and a contraceptive tablet. I'm wondering, how long should I continue these medications? Also, is it advisable to consider phototherapy as a treatment option?

Taking Oncotrex (methotrexate) 5mg with a contraceptive tablet is a common treatment regimen for conditions like psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis; the duration of treatment varies depending on the condition and response, but typically ranges from a few months to several years; regarding phototherapy, it may be advisable in conjunction with methotrexate treatment, but this should be discussed with your doctor, as phototherapy can increase the risk of skin cancer and other side effects.

I'm trying to make sense of my blood report, and I'm a bit worried. It showed 60mmhr ESR and 45 lymphocytes. I learned a bit about ESR, but I'm not sure what steps I should take next. I've also been dealing with sinusitis, headaches at the back of my head, shoulder pain, and occasional dizziness that makes walking tough. My urine test came out normal, but I'm unsure what other tests I should consider. Could you help guide me on what to do next?

Consult a specialist, such as an ENT doctor, rheumatologist, or immunologist, to discuss your elevated ESR (60mmhr) and lymphocytes (45%) levels, and symptoms like sinusitis, headache, shoulder pain, giddiness, and difficulty walking, and they may recommend further tests, such as CRP, ANA, RF, vitamin B12, and MRI or CT scans, to rule out underlying conditions like infections, autoimmune disorders, or neurological issues, and develop a personalized treatment plan.

I've been noticing this issue with my calf muscles for almost a year now. Every night when I lie down to sleep, I feel this persistent pain in my leg, and it's even worse during the winter months. The discomfort just doesn't seem to go away. Do you have any idea what might be causing this or how I can find some relief?

. Calf pain is usually due to venous insufficiency, muscle strain due to abnormal posture or stress, rarely even arterial insufficiency. It will need detailed clinical examination. Also investigations like venous or arterial doppler might be needed is venous or arterial insufficiency is suspected. So kindly consult a general surgeon
