Hey, I've been having this weird jaw pain right at the hinge, and I think it's a bit swollen, but only on the left side. I just had some dental work done on that side because of a cavity, and now it hurts to open my mouth wide. This all started last night, but for about five days before that, I'd wake up with a sore throat, a runny nose, and mucus. Strangely, during the day, I feel fine, but at night it all comes back until morning. There's also this occasional ringing noise in my left ear, like a beep, and it's around 814kHz or something. It's more obvious when I cover or muffle my ear. Any idea what's going on?

View allI'm noticing some vertical purple veins next to my tonsils and the back of my throat looks inflamed. There's also a mild pain when I swallow. Should I be concerned about this, or is it something that can resolve on its own?
You seem to be suffering from acute pharyngo-tonsillitis which is a common type of throat infection. You may need to take antibiotics and painkillers along with antiseptic mouth gargle for few days for faster recovery

I'm dealing with some hardened ear wax buildup, and when my doctor tried to take it out last time, it was really painful. The doctor suggested using anesthesia for the removal, but I'm worried about the cost of the procedure. Is there a more affordable alternative that I could consider?

I got my CT scan report showing a deviated septum but I don't have major breathing issues on the left side. Sometimes I get headaches on that side though. No frequent colds. Do I really need septoplasty surgery or can I manage without it?
A deviated septum doesn't always require surgery, even if you have one. If your deviated septum is mild and not causing significant issues, you may not need septoplasty. However, if you're experiencing headaches or other bothersome symptoms, you should discuss treatment options with your doctor.
