Hi doctor, we have been married for seven years. We do not have children. After two years, this month my period is delayed by 36 days. I took a home pregnancy test today and it shows negative. I am suffering from severe back pain and hip pain. Is there any possibility of pregnancy? I am having slight pain like menstrual pain.

Missed period with back and hip pain can be an early pregnancy sign. A negative home test may be too early or inaccurate. Suggest repeat test or lab based test.

View allDoctor, I had unprotected sex 3 days before my period was supposed to start. He did not finish inside. I had spotting for 4 days but no full period. Date of intercourse: 14th, Period date: 17th, Spotting started: 21st, Little extra blood flow on 24th, Spotting stopped: 25th. Pregnancy test was negative, checked on 27th. Can you please tell me what the issue might be? I have regular periods with medium flow always. I also have a healthy lifestyle. I have been travelling the past week; other than that there are no other issues.

My periods started on 2nd June. On 22nd June, I took an emergency contraceptive (ipill) after unprotected intercourse. My next period was expected on 3rd July, but it did not come, so I took a home urine pregnancy test on 11th July evening, which was negative. For the past two days, I have been experiencing very dark spotting. What could this mean? Could I still be pregnant, and should I test again?

I took an I pill twice at the end of December with a gap of 5 days. After that, I had withdrawal bleeding in the first week of January, which lasted only 5 days like normal periods. In the last week of February, I had periods again, but they were very light, not like normal periods. Now it has been 10 days and I am still having very light bleeding. Is it normal to have this type of irregular period? I did a pregnancy test and it was negative.
