Hi doctors. I have done TSH testing for the first time. My report shows 33.574. I do not have any symptoms of high TSH. I am not able to understand why it is high. Should I do another TSH test?

TSH is high, indicating hypothyroidism. It needs confirmation. Repeat the test and consult an endocrinologist.
Dr. Yusuf Suggests...
Take a TSH Test (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) Test or Take a THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES (ANTI MICROSOMAL ANTIBODIES) Test

View allHello, my aunt recovered from viral fever last week. She is not under any medication now. However, for the last 2 to 3 days, she has developed severe headache and nausea. On checking with a local physician, she was advised to do TSH, T3, and T4 tests. Previously, she was under medication for high TSH but stopped the medication a few months ago thinking everything was normal and feeling fine. The fresh test today shows TSH 18.77, T3 117, and T4 9.4. The reports indicate a high TSH level. She is worried and needs help.
