Hi, I am 5 months pregnant with my first baby. In my recent blood test, my platelet count has risen to 700,000, and my WBC is 11,200, which seems high. My doctor has advised me to do PT, APTT, INR, and Hb electrophoresis and to consult a hematologist. This is the first time my platelet count has been elevated, my last report was completely normal. Could this change be related to pregnancy? I am unsure how to proceed and would like guidance, as all my other reports are normal.

Dear Doctor, I had tonsillitis last week, and my WBC was 17x10000/L. After taking the prescribed medication and no longer experiencing a sore throat last Thursday, I repeated my blood test on Tuesday, and my WBC has decreased to 13x10000/L.
