Hi, my blood report includes the remark ALERT, Predominantly normocytic normochromic with macrocytes and ovalocytes. I would like to understand what this means. My report shows, Hemoglobin is 12.8 g/dL, MCV is 109.9 fL, MCH is 33.2 pg, MCHC is 30.3 g/dL, RDWSD is 59.3 fL, RDWCV is 14.4 percent. Could you please explain the significance of these findings?

Your report suggests mild anemia with enlarged red cells (macrocytes) and oval shaped cells. This pattern is often seen in B12 or folate deficiency. It is not alarming but needs further evaluation and correction. Please consult your doctor.
Dr. Hema Suggests...
Take a VITAMIN B12 AND FOLATE Test or Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test

I have been chewing tobacco and gutkha for several years, and over time, my mouth opening has reduced and my jaws have become stiff. I am very concerned and depressed because of this. I am unable to eat spicy food, and I also sweat a lot while eating. Could you please suggest if any ointment can be applied to the inner mouth or jaw area? Also, what tests should I undergo to evaluate this condition?
