How do you determine if low white blood cells count is serious?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Normal range is usually between 4,000 and 11,000 per microliter of blood. A blood test that shows a WBC count of less than 4,000 per microliter could mean your body may not be able to fight infection the way it should.

View allToday I received my complete blood report, which shows: Lymphocytes: 25% (low) WBC count: 9,600 Platelet count: 2.1 lakh For the past three days, I have had inflammation on the chest and armpit. I consulted a general physician, who suggested it might be a gastric problem. I am worried about HIV, as I had protected sex with an unknown partner one week ago. Could this be HIV? I do not have fever or other symptoms. Please advise on what steps I should take.
