View allI'm experiencing some pain in my throat that's been going on for about two weeks now. It only hurts when I swallow saliva, but not when I'm eating or drinking anything. The pain seems to come and go, and there's no pain when I move my neck. I don't have a cough or anything, but when I'm distracted or busy, I sometimes don't notice it as much. I'm really concerned and a bit scared that it might be something serious like throat cancer. Could you help me understand what could be causing this?

My 2.9-year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with adenoids, and we've started antibiotics. The doctor mentioned surgery if the meds don't work, but I'm really hesitant about putting her through surgery at such a young age it's only moderate right now. Any suggestions? I'm really worried as a mom.
adenoidectomy is advised.
