View allI'm considering ICL surgery but I'm a strict vegetarian and worried about the collamer lenses from STAAR Surgical. I read online that they might be derived from animal sources is that true? If not, where do they come from? And is it possible to get ICL lenses that are 100% plant-based?
No, Collamer lenses used in STAAR Surgical's Visian ICL surgery are not derived from animal sources, and they are not 100% plant-based. They are a synthetic material that is specifically designed to be biocompatible with the eye and not derived from any animal products, though the lens does contain a small amount of purified collagen.

My right eyelid is swollen with a pus-filled lump that's turned into a hard mass. The doctor recommended surgery but I want to try meds first. I've been taking gate df eyedrops, rabikind dsr, fynal 500, and zypore for 3 days but the lump hasn't reduced much. Should I switch meds or is surgery the only option now?

I have vision problems and I'm considering eye surgery but I'm not sure where to start. What type of surgery would be best for me LASIK or something else? Also, can you recommend a good hospital or clinic for the procedure? I'm a bit nervous and would really appreciate some guidance
