Pilonidal sinus surgery costs in allopathy can range from Rs. 20,500 to Rs. 55,750 in India, with variations based on factors like the hospital and surgical technique used. If left untreated, pilonidal sinus can lead to complications like chronic pain, recurrent infections, and in rare cases, even fistulas or skin cancer.

My friend has a pilonidal cyst and initially tried allopathic meds thinking it was just a boil but the pain didn't go away. Now he's doing ayurvedic treatments like medicated water seatings and some medicines which have helped with the pain but he's unsure if he should go for ayurvedic surgery or if homeopathy could work too. What would you recommend for long-term relief?

A pilonidal cyst is usually treated in your health care provider's office. After numbing the area, your health care provider makes a small cut to drain the cysts. If the cyst returns, you may need surgery.

My mom's ultrasound report shows a small appendicolith. Can this be treated with medicine or is surgery the only option? I'm a bit worried and would like to understand what's best for her

A small appendicolith, a calcified deposit in the appendix, can be managed with either medication or surgery, depending on the presence of symptoms and other factors. While surgery (appendectomy) is often recommended, especially if appendicitis develops, some cases may be managed with antibiotics and pain relief, particularly if the appendicolith is small and the patient is otherwise healthy.
