I am 28 years old. Over the past few months, I have been losing weight steadily, and my skin has become darker. I also have minor sinus issues but no major medical conditions. My parents both have diabetes, so I recently got tested, but my blood sugar levels were normal. I work in IT with a stressful night shift schedule. Please suggest how I can gain weight and maintain healthy skin. I have never had any skin allergies in the past.

Your weight loss and skin darkening may be linked to hormonal or nutritional issue, especially with night shifts and stress. Even if your sugar is normal now, your family history means you should monitor it regularly. Get a blood test to check your thyroid, cortisol, vitamins (B12, D), and HbA1c. To gain healthy weight, eat every 3 to 4 hours with more proteins, good fats, and complex carbs. Fixing sleep and stress is equally important.
Dr. Ezhilarasan Suggests...
Take a TSH Test (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) Test or Take a HbA1c Test (Hemoglobin A1c) Test

More Thyroid Profile (T3 T4 TSH) Test Health Queries
View allHello doctor. I have hypothyroidism for the last 4 years. Currently, I am on Thyronorm 50. My thyroid profile is normal, and TSH is 2.1. Since June, I have been feeling occasional ectopic beats. I get a funny sensation in my chest followed by a hard beat, which then goes away. Is this due to my thyroid condition? This causes anxiety, which seems to trigger even more ectopic beats. Please help.

I am overweight and trying to reduce my weight but I am not seeing quick results. My periods are regular. Is this fine. What else can I do to maintain regular periods.

Hi, my wife, aged 34, has not been feeling well for the last few weeks. She delivered a healthy baby in March 2020 by operation. Her symptoms include hyperacidity, low energy, headache, uneasiness, and occasional vertigo. Her blood test report shows: TSH 4.9, SGPT 68.96, SGOT 31.06, GGT 47.33, Hb 13.1, Platelet count 137. My queries are: how can we increase platelets? How can we get SGPT and SGOT to normal? Is there any connection with TSH? Thanks.
