I'm really concerned about my brother who was diagnosed with Dengue fever yesterday. His platelet count was at 110,000 the day before yesterday, but today it's dropped to 69,000. Even though he seems to be feeling better, I'm worried because the platelet count is declining. The doctor has advised us to keep him at home and rest with fluids like coconut water, but should we be thinking about admitting him to the hospital instead? I'm not sure if we should stick with what our current doctor says or maybe seek a second opinion. What do you think?

Platelet count dropping to 69K in Dengue fever is a cause of concern, especially if it continues to decrease. However, as long as the patient is feeling better than yesterday, it may not be an immediate emergency. It is important to monitor the platelet count closely and watch for any signs of bleeding or other complications. The doctor may have recommended medications like Paracetamol for fever and pain, as well as fluids like coconut water to stay hydrated. Additionally, it is important to get plenty of rest. One medication that can help in increasing platelet count is Carica Papaya leaf extract.
