I had anal sex for the first time with my partner, and since we were inexperienced, the condom tore. We were worried about the possibility of sperm reaching the vaginal area. This happened two days after my period ended (on Monday), and I took Unwanted 72 within two hours. Now, after seven days (on Sunday), I experienced some light bleeding. I am considering visiting a doctor for a checkup. Will the doctor be able to find out if I took the pill through any test for irregular bleeding? Can I be assured that there is no chance of pregnancy?

Bleeding 7 days after taking Unwanted 72 is common and indicates the pill has worked, making pregnancy highly unlikely in your case. Doctors usually do not test to check if you took the pill, and there is no specific test that shows if you took an emergency contraceptive. The bleeding is due to hormonal changes from the pill and will settle soon. If your next period is delayed by more than a week, you can book a Urine Pregnancy Test or Serum Beta hCG test for reassurance.

View allI had a lower abdomen ultrasound done recently. I am unmarried and worried about pregnancy. My last menstrual period was on 5th January. I am unsure if the sonographer properly examined my uterus. I have attached my report and ultrasound images for your review.

For the past few months, I have been experiencing irregularities in my menstrual cycle, with delays in my periods. This month, I have missed my period entirely. All my blood tests and ultrasound reports are normal.

My periods are 4 days late, and I have cloudy discharge. I did a pregnancy test yesterday, which was negative. My last intercourse was on 31st August, after which I got my period. Last month has been very stressful, with on and off fever, cough, extreme emotional stress, and sleepless nights due to personal issues. Could these factors be the reason for my delayed period?
