I had a fever, took medicine, and recovered. However, I got fever again after 8 days (102F). I consulted a doctor who prescribed medication, but my fever persists around 100 to 101F. I underwent several tests: Typhidot IgM: Negative Blood culture: Negative CBC: Normal The doctor prescribed Taxim O and Calpol 500, and the fever subsided for 3 days but then returned to the same temperature. I switched to another doctor who ran further tests: Thyroid (T3, T4, TSH): Normal C reactive protein: Positive (43 mg/L) Liver function tests: Total bilirubin 1.5 mg/dL, Direct bilirubin 0.23 mg/dL, ALT/SGPT 79 IU/L Currently, when I take paracetamol, the fever reduces temporarily, but it returns after 5 to 6 hours. What could be the cause of this persistent low grade fever, and what should be the next steps?

Elevated CRP and ALT suggest ongoing inflammation or viral illness. Further testing like dengue or COVID may help.
Dr. Bhanu Suggests...
Take a CRP Test (C - Reactive Protein) Test or Take a LFT (Liver Function) Test Test

View allSix days ago my sister developed a red spot in one eye. After two days, she started having fever in the evening only, with a maximum temperature of 99.6F, along with slight stomach upset. Her COVID test is negative. I have attached her blood report, done today. Her CRP is 0.38 and platelet count is 115. Please suggest whether this could be COVID or some other issue. Apart from the evening fever and slight stomach upset, her eye is perfectly fine and she has no other symptoms.

My CRP is 46. Is it too high? Am I in danger? I have fever, cold and body pain for 5 days and I am taking Abphylline tablet along with Montek LC. Fever is not going away. My ESR and CRP are high. Am I safe? Please check my report.
