I have a 5.5cm intramural fundal fibroid and my doctor recommended open surgery instead of laparoscopic. I'm planning for pregnancy soon should I go ahead with the surgery? What are the possible complications? Would abdominal open surgery be better than laparoscopic in my case?

It's generally recommended to address large fibroids, like yours, before attempting pregnancy, as they can interfere with implantation, growth, and delivery. Open surgery might be considered over laparoscopic for very large or multiple fibroids. Open surgery also carries a higher risk of complications like scarring, blood loss, and adhesions. Ultimately, the decision of whether to proceed with surgery depends on your individual circumstances, including the fibroid's size, location, your overall health, and your fertility goals

View allMy wife is feeling a bit under the weather with a mild cold, and she's in her third trimester right now. My uncle, who's an ENT doctor, recommended febrex plus and azithro 250 mg for her. I'm just a bit concerned and would love some input on whether these medications are okay for her to take at this stage. What do you think?

I'm a bit worried because my wife accidentally took Microdine vaginal tablets orally yesterday. Thankfully, she hasn't shown any negative symptoms so far, but I'm wondering if we should see a doctor. How serious could this be?

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and just got some blood work back. My SGOT is at 35, SGPT is 65, and alkaline phosphatase (AP) is at 167. Plus, my platelet count is 110. Should I be concerned about these results?
Your elevated SGPT (65) and low platelet count (110) may indicate a potential liver issue, such as preeclampsia or HELLP syndrome, which can be concerning during pregnancy, so it's essential to discuss these results with your obstetrician and closely monitor your condition to ensure the health and safety of both you and your baby.
