I have a fever and did a test for malaria, but the result was negative. Yet, the doctor started malaria medication for 2 days. Is it okay to take it?

Malaria tests can sometimes be negative in early infection or with low parasite levels. If your doctor suspects malaria based on symptoms and region, starting treatment is reasonable. Complete the full course of malaria medication as prescribed to prevent complications. Monitor for worsening symptoms like high fever, weakness, or yellowing of eyes. If fever persists after treatment, you can book a Repeat Malaria Test and CBC to reassess.

Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test
