I have a flap tear in the posterior horn of my lateral meniscus and also an ACL tear my ACL surgery is scheduled for next week. Do I really need surgery for the meniscus tear too, or can it heal on its own? I'm worried about having two surgeries and how that might affect recovery.

Whether you need surgery for a flap tear in the posterior horn of your lateral meniscus alongside your scheduled ACL surgery depends on the severity and type of tear, as well as your individual circumstances. While some smaller tears might heal on their own with conservative treatment, larger or more complex tears may require surgery, either at the same time as the ACL surgery or separately. The decision will be made by your orthopedic surgeon, taking into account factors like the tear's size, location, and your overall health

Got diagnosed with a meniscus tear after an MRI and the doctor recommended surgery. I'm a bit nervous about going under the knife are there any other treatment options that could help heal it without surgery? I've been told I need surgery for my meniscus tear based on the MRI results. Is there any way to manage this without surgery, like physical therapy or injections? MRI showed a meniscus tear and surgery was suggested. I'd prefer to avoid surgery if possible what alternatives are out there that might work? Just found out I have a meniscus tear and the doc says surgery is the way to go. Are there non-surgical treatments that could fix this or at least ease the pain? Meniscus tear confirmed by MRI and surgery is the recommendation. Wondering if rest, meds, or exercises could help instead of going straight to surgery?

Meniscal repair and reconstruction of the ligament to the bone by an orthopedic surgeon is recommended.

I'm 16 and have bow legs with an O shape curvature is there any way to straighten them without surgery I'm really worried about how they look and if it can be fixed naturally

While you may not be able to "fix" the bone structure of your legs naturally at age 16, you can improve muscle strength, flexibility, and overall alignment, which can make your legs appear straighter and reduce associated pain. Exercises, stretching, and potentially bracing can help manage the condition and improve your overall well-being
