I sometimes experience a burning sensation while urinating and also after ejaculation, along with persistent itching on the penis. I read that these can be symptoms of a UTI. Should I get a urine test done first, or directly schedule an appointment with a urologist?

Burning while urinating and itching can be due to a UTI or mild infection. It is a good idea to get a Urine Routine and Urine Culture test first before visiting a urologist, as it helps in diagnosis and speeds up treatment. Drink plenty of water and maintain hygiene. If fever, severe pain, or blood in urine occurs, see a doctor immediately.

View allDear respected doctors, I have been facing reduced urine output. When I drink water, it takes 1 or 2 hours to urinate. Earlier, it used to take hardly 15 to 20 minutes, but now it is sometimes normal and sometimes very little. My water intake is approximately 2 liters. Recently, my blood test showed urea 18.9 mg/dl and serum creatinine 0.60. USG KUB shows fatty liver grade 1, mild features of PCOD, and a simple renal cortical cyst measuring 35x40 mm. My question is, are any of these findings causing this trouble or do I have a kidney problem? Please provide appropriate guidance.

I have been experiencing red rashes on the penile head and foreskin, along with a burning sensation during urination for the past one month. My urine report came back normal. I initially consulted a urologist, who advised me to see a dermatologist. I have now consulted a dermatologist and started the prescribed medications (attached for your reference).
