I'm 28 and recently had sex with a prostitute, but I'm not sure about her HIV status. After I got an erection, some serum leaked from the condom and got into her vagina, though she cleaned up right away. I'm pretty worried and just wondering if there's any risk of HIV transmission from this situation?

I'm really worried because my lab report came back with something called Salmonella typhi H 140. I went to the hospital this morning, and now I'm feeling anxious about what to do next. Can you explain what this means and how I can recover from it?

Salmonella typhi infection is commonly treated with antibiotics. In this case, you can take antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin or Azithromycin to help recover from Salmonella typhi infection. It is important to complete the full course of antibiotics as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Additionally, make sure to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest to help your body recover.

I'm really confused because I got bitten by a dog and my doctor told me to get 3 doses of the rabies vaccine, but I thought there were 5 doses in the series. Why did my doctor say I only need 3 shots? Should I be worried about this?

Your doctor likely prescribed 3 rabies vaccine doses because you're considered to be at low to moderate risk, which usually requires 3 doses. The full 5-dose schedule is typically given to those with higher exposure or specific risk factors.

Hey, I just had a weird experience where a mouse bit my finger. There wasn't any visible cut or bleeding, but it felt like it pinched. There's a small bump now and I'm not sure if it's related to the bite. I washed it thoroughly with Lifebuoy soap for a couple of minutes, used Dettol, and even applied extra Dettol on the spot. I got an anti-tetanus shot last year and a rabies booster just a couple of months ago, so I'm curious if I'm still at risk for anything like Hantavirus since there wasn't a clear break in the skin. Just wondering if there's anything else I should do. What are your thoughts?

Since there was no visible break in the skin or bleeding, the risk of infection (including rabies and hantavirus) is significantly lower, You're well-protected with your recent anti-rabies and tetanus shots. No additional doses are necessary unless advised by a healthcare provider. if area becomes red or swollen or painfull then consult a doctor
