I'm a 46-year-old guy and I've been having this burning sensation when I pee for the past couple of days. I'm a bit worried and would like to know what could be causing this. Is it an infection? Are there any home remedies or immediate treatments I can try to ease it?

View allI'm really worried about my mom. She's been taking Niftas 100 mg tablets for her urinary tract infection, and even though she doesn't have any pain in her abdomen, the pain still hasn't gone away after finishing the medicine. Her doctor told her to keep taking the tablets for another two months, but every time she takes them, she gets a really bad fever. Does this sound like a normal side effect of the medicine? And is there more we can do besides drinking 3 liters of water every day like the doctor suggested? Any advice would be great because we're a bit confused about what's happening.
Niftas 100 mg tablet contains Nitrofurantoin, an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs). _Fever as a Side Effect_ Fever is not a common side effect of Nitrofurantoin. However, it can occur in rare cases. If your mom experiences severe fever, it's essential to consult her doctor to rule out any other underlying conditions. _UTI Treatment and Prevention_ 1. _Complete the antibiotic course_: Ensure your mom completes the 2-month antibiotic course as prescribed by her doctor. 2. _Drink plenty of water_: Continue drinking 3 liters of water daily to help flush out bacteria. 3. _Urinate when needed_: Encourage your mom to urinate when she feels the need, rather than holding it in. 4. _Wipe correctly_: Teach your mom to wipe from front to back to prevent bacteria from entering the urethra. 5. _Avoid irritants_: Avoid using scented soaps, bubble baths, or douches, as they can irritate the urethra. 6. _Consider a urine culture test_: If UTI symptoms persist, consider a urine culture test to identify the underlying cause and adjust treatment accordingly. _Alternative Solutions_ 1. _Cranberry juice or supplements_: Cranberry products may help prevent UTIs by preventing bacterial adhesion. 2. _Probiotics_: Probiotics can help maintain a healthy gut microbiome, which can aid in preventing UTIs. 3. _Heat or cold therapy_: Applying heat or cold packs to the lower abdomen may help alleviate discomfort.

I'm feeling really worried because after having sex for the first time, I've noticed that one side of my penis is swelling up. How long does it usually take for this kind of thing to go back to normal? Should I be concerned?
The swelling on one side of your penis after first-time sex could be due to a condition called penile Mondor's disease, a thrombophlebitis of the superficial dorsal vein, or other possible causes like trauma or friction during sex, and while it's usually a self-limiting condition

I'm 28 and can't retract my foreskin when erect, plus it's painful when I try. Is this phimosis or paraphimosis? Are there non-surgical treatments or should I consider surgery? Is surgery safe at my age or are there side effects I should know about? I'm really concerned about this.
It's likely you have phimosis, a condition where the foreskin is too tight to retract. This can cause pain, especially during erections or attempts to retract the foreskin. Non-surgical treatments like steroid creams or exercises can help, but surgery (circumcision) might be necessary for severe or persistent phimosis. Surgery is generally safe and can be effective at relieving symptoms and preventing complications
