I'm a bit worried because I've been experiencing some pain between my left ear and lower jaw, and sometimes it seems to travel up to my brain. Just today, I noticed a small lump at the back of my throat. Could this be oral cancer? I've been using cool lip tobacco for about 3.5 years now. Would really appreciate your thoughts.

My mom is 60 and has diabetes and high blood pressure. She's been dealing with really bad ear itching and when we saw an ENT specialist, they found holes in both eardrums. One doctor says she needs surgery on the right ear first then the left after 3 months, but another ENT said surgery isn't necessary at all. Really confused about what to do since we have the scan reports but getting conflicting opinions

It's understandable to be confused with conflicting medical opinions. Your mom's diabetes and high blood pressure could also influence the healing process and make it more important to address the perforation properly

I've had a preauricular sinus infection for years and even had surgery 15 years ago, but it's come back. I've been dealing with this for so long is there any way to finally get rid of it for good?

Yes, it's possible to potentially eliminate a preauricular sinus infection permanently, even after previous surgery, but it may require further surgical intervention and a thorough approach. The key is to ensure complete removal of the sinus tract and any associated cartilage or tissue remnants, as incomplete removal is a major factor in recurrence.
