I'm curious about the cysteine treatment I've been getting for my frizzy and dull hair these past two years. Is it actually good for my hair?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Cysteine treatment can be beneficial for hair, particularly for repairing and restoring damaged hair structure. However, it's essential to use this treatment in moderation and under the guidance of a professional stylist to avoid potential drawbacks.
If you've been using cysteine treatment for two years and are satisfied with the results, it's likely that it's working well for your hair. Just remember to maintain a balanced hair care routine and be mindful of potential interactions with other hair treatments

If your body makes too much melanin, your skin gets darker. Pregnancy, Addison's disease, and sun exposure all can make your skin darker.

I've been dealing with some really weird lip issues. It started with my lips swelling from top to bottom, and after a few days, they went back down. But then, they started darkening and eventually turned completely black. Now they're super dry and chapped and sometimes burn depending on what I put on them. I'm really not sure what's going on or what to do about it. Can you help me figure this out?
This sounds like a condition called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation of the lips. To help with the darkening, dryness, and chapping of your lips, I recommend using a lip balm containing hydrocortisone and sunscreen during the day. You can also apply a thin layer of hydroquinone cream at night to help lighten the dark pigmentation. Additionally, make sure to stay hydrated and avoid licking your lips, as saliva can further dry them out. If the symptoms persist or worsen, consult a dermatologist for further evaluation and management.

My fianc has been dealing with these itchy rashes around his thighs, butt, and even on his penis for about four months now and it's really starting to get him down. He tried using some medicine for a fungal infection but it hasn't helped. It all began with these ring-like scars, then more turned up looking like pimples, and now there're rashes that resemble scratch marks. Since we're getting married in March 2018, we're both pretty worried. Does anyone have any advice on what we should do?
I'd recommend seeing a dermatologist for a proper evaluation, as there could be an underlying issue such as eczema, psoriasis, or a different fungal infection. Early treatment can help manage the symptoms and provide relief.
