I'm dealing with these painful swollen lumps under my armpit skin and I've already talked to a skin specialist about it. She told me I should see a surgeon next. I'm not sure which kind of surgeon I should go to. Can you help me figure out which type of doctor I should consult?

View allMy 42-day-old baby has been diagnosed with an inguinal hernia, and the doctor recommended surgery. I read somewhere that the baby should weigh over 10 kg, but mine is only 4.10 kg. The pediatric surgeon didn't mention weight as a concern should I go ahead with the surgery or wait for him to gain more weight? What are the risks involved in operating at this age and weight?

My 4-month-old son was born with imperforate anus and had a colostomy done. He weighs 6 kg now when is the right time for his next major surgery? Also, will he be able to potty train normally in the future?
The ideal timing for the next major surgery (reconstructive surgery) depends on individual factors and the severity of the malformation. While 3-6 months is a typical timeframe after a colostomy, the child's weight, overall health, and the surgeon's assessment are key considerations. Nemours KidsHealth
