I'm dealing with these red bumps at the back of my throat for the past couple of weeks. There's nothing else going on, but it does hurt when I swallow, though I'm not sure if that's connected. I've got a pic that shows what's happening. Can you help me figure out what's causing this and how to treat it?

Is this a silly question? I'm just curious because I know we have two main pipes in our throat, you know, the windpipe and the food pipe. So is the windpipe on the right side or the left side? And what about the food pipe, is it on the left or right? Sorry if this sounds dumb, just really curious!

The windpipe, also known as the trachea, is located in the midline of the neck and chest, so it is not on the right or left side specifically. The food pipe, or esophagus, is also located in the midline of the body, behind the windpipe. So neither the windpipe nor the food pipe is specifically on the right or left side of the body.

I'm dealing with a wet throat pretty often lately and sometimes I get a cough in the morning or evening. I saw a general physician, did a chest X-ray, blood test, and spit test, and everything came back normal. I've been on medicine for 10 days, but I don't feel like it's getting any better. Could you help me figure out what's going on?

Consider consulting an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist for further evaluation, as a wet throat and persistent cough despite normal tests and medication may indicate underlying conditions like acid reflux, postnasal drip, or allergies; the ENT specialist can perform a thorough examination, potentially using endoscopy or allergy testing, to identify the root cause and recommend targeted treatment.
