The test you may need is called Pulmonary Function Test (PFT). This test can help evaluate how well your lungs are working and identify any breathing problems. In the meantime, you can use a bronchodilator inhaler like Ventolin (albuterol) as needed for relief. The usual dosage is 1-2 puffs every 4-6 hours as needed for shortness of breath.

I'm really at a loss here. I've been hit with two chest infections recently and gone through three rounds of antibioticsamoxicillin, azithromycin, and doxycyclineand yet my cough just wont go away. Every time I wrap up an antibiotic treatment, I feel a bit better for a couple of days, but then the fevers and cough come roaring back. The cough is awful, brings up phlegm, and even sets off my asthma, making me feel lightheaded and out of breath. It's just so frustrating. I've ruled out whooping cough with a test, so I'm really wondering what could be going on and what I should do next. Any ideas?
