I'm having this on-and-off cough for a few weeks, and I'm really worried. I had an x-ray, and they saw some infection-like patches on my right lung, but my COVID test was negative. I took some meds like amoxicillin, montelukast, and clarithromycin for five days, then Allegram and Abphyllin SR for another week. The second x-ray looked okay, but I still have cough. Some days it's not so bad, but other days, I've got this chest congestion with white phlegm that's sometimes frothy, sometimes thick. My doctor wants me to keep taking Allegram and Abphyllin for three more weeks. I'm anxious about whether this is enough or if I should do more. Is using a nebulizer something I should consider?

View allHow can I check my breathing at home?
You may check breathing or oxygenation level by "Pulse Oximeter" which gives indirect clue on lung damage but keep in mind there are other medical conditions which may affect pulse oximeter readings.

I'm really worried because I've been dealing with ILD for the past two years. It's made breathing really tough and I've got this persistent cough that won't go away. I'm currently taking Mucinac and Pirfenex tabs. Could you help me understand if there's anything else I should be doing or taking to manage these symptoms better?
It sounds like you're managing ILD with Mucinac and Pirfenex, which help with mucus clearance and lung function. Breathing issues and persistent coughing are common in ILD, so it's important to follow up regularly with your doctor to monitor your condition and adjust treatments as needed. If your symptoms worsen, let your healthcare provider know.

I've been dealing with a cough for about a year now, and there's also been daily congestion. The mucus is relentless, and it seems to worsen with exposure to dust, and after eating things like curds or oily foods. I'm getting concerned about what's causing this and how to manage it. Could you give me some advice or potential solutions?
