I'm really concerned about my wife. She started having sudden shivering at night, and it's the third day of her monthly period. There's no fever, so I gave her hot milk and a 650 mg dose of paracetamol. I'm trying to understand what might be causing this. Could it be related to her period, or is there something else going on?

Shivering may be caused due to hormonal imbalance or dehydration and muscle cramps. It is advisable to get a blood test done for safety, but there should be no major cause for concern.

I'm really worried and need my period to start right away. Is there any medicine you can suggest that might make it happen within a day?
Consult with a Gynecologist to get a prescription. Commonly used medication include Medroxyprogesterone acetate to induce a withdrawal bleed and start your period. Taking medication without the guidance of a medical officer can have serious side effects.
