I'm really thin and have been since I was a kid. No matter how much I eat, I just can't seem to put on weight. Do you have any advice or could there be some underlying issue that's causing this?

I've just found out that my TSH level is 5.22 and I'm a bit concerned. Can you tell me if this means I have hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism? Also, what precautions or steps should I be taking right now?

I've been told that my TSH levels are elevated. What's causing this? Should I consider getting any additional tests to better understand what's happening?
High TSH indicates hypothyroidism.. you can test for free T3 and T4 and anti thyroid antibodies.. USG neck also should be done if there is any tenderness and swelling in the neck..
