I'm really worried about my aunt who was recently admitted to a top hospital in Mumbai because she's been having trouble breathing. They've done an ECG and a lung X-ray, and both came back normal. Her blood pressure is also fine, but the doctors still cant figure out what's causing her breathlessness. Do you have any ideas on what could be going on or what steps we should take next?

View allI've been dealing with COPD for a couple of years now, and I'm really struggling with nonstop coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and tightness in my chest. Every 12 hours or so, my nostrils get blocked too. I've been using inhalers like Esiflo 250 and Tiova, but they only seem to provide temporary relief before everything gets worse again. It's gotten to a point where I've had to be admitted to the hospital, and even with constant nebulization there, things have not improved. I'm feeling pretty discouraged and am looking for advice on how to get long-term relief. Any suggestions?
start levofloxaxin antibiotics and take oxygen for 2 hrs daily

I'm trying to understand the difference between obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea. What's the main factor doctors look at when diagnosing these? I'm just a bit worried about mixed symptoms that I might have.
Pulmonary function test (PFT) is advised to the patient.Also central sleep apnea is less common .There is block in the airway in obstructive sleep apnea , in central sleep apnea brain signals to the muscles of breathing is blocked.

I'm really worried about my dad. He's 76 and has been dealing with COPD for 7 years. Just recently, he had a secondary infection causing respiratory failure type 2. At the moment, he's on 0.5 O2 to keep his oxygen level at 94. His latest abc report shows pco2 at 40 and po2 at 66. Besides COPD, he only has thyroid issues. I'm concerned about his life expectancy after this episode. Can you give me an idea if he might have 6 months, 1 year, or even 5 years left?
