I'm really worried because I've been told that my pleural effusion is due to TB. Is this type of TB something others can catch from me? Also, how long does it typically take to get better from this?

What are the 4 types of hypoxia?

The four types are as follows: (1) the hypoxemic type, in which the oxygen pressure in the blood going to the tissues is too low to saturate the hemoglobin. (2) the anemic type, in which the amount of functional hemoglobin is too small, and hence the capacity of the blood to carry oxygen is too low. (3) the stagnant type, in which the blood is or may be normal but the flow of blood to the tissues is reduced or unevenly distributed. (4) the histotoxic type, in which the tissue cells are poisoned and are therefore unable to make proper use of oxygen.

I'm dealing with a really heavy dry cough at night and it's gotten so bad that I can't sleep well. It's even causing stomach pain because I'm coughing so hard. This seems to happen a lot, like once a month, and then it sticks around for about two weeks. I've seen general physicians and they mention things like throat infections or seasonal changes, but it keeps coming back every month or two. I'm really trying to figure out what's causing this so I can find a permanent solution. What kind of specialist should I see to get to the bottom of this?

I'm really concerned about my mom. She's dealing with ILD, and her cardiologist prescribed Existing AV 75 to help manage her high blood pressure. I'm worried about how this might affect her lungs. Is it safe for her to take this medication? Would love some insight on this.
