I'm usually on a 30-day cycle and have PCOD. I've been going through fertility treatment and started taking Duphaston from the 16th day. My period was due on the 5th, and now it's the 12th, but I still haven't gotten it. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. Should I stop taking Duphaston, or is there a chance I'll get my period while still on it?

Best would be to consult gynaecologist who is treating. Otherwise wait for one more week for periods then repeat pregnancy test with morning sample urine, if negative then stop Duphaston.

View allMy mother has been dealing with recurring bleeding for the past 5 years, and it keeps happening every year. Each time, medications like Pause MF or Sevista stop the bleeding, but now the doctor prescribed Pause MF and Deviry 10mg. The doctor is suggesting open surgery to remove her uterus instead of laparoscopy. I've attached the reports what would you recommend in this situation? Is open surgery the only option or could laparoscopy still be considered?
It's understandable to be concerned about your mother's recurring bleeding and the potential for surgery. While an open hysterectomy (removing the uterus) is a definitive solution, laparoscopy (a minimally invasive procedure) should also be considered. If the underlying cause of the bleeding is not completely resolved, open surgery might be necessary, but it's crucial to explore other options first, especially if your mother isn't yet ready for menopause.

my mom has had painful periods for 34 years and now doctors are recommending ovary removal surgery but I'm really scared about the operation - is this the only option or are there other treatments we can try first
Chronic painful periods may indicate endometriosis or fibroids; ovary removal is a last resort after trying hormonal and medical therapy options.

I'm feeling a bit anxious because I was on Duphaston 10mg once a day from the 15th to the 28th day of my cycle. After that, I did a pregnancy test, and it came back negative. I even got a Beta HCG test on the 28th day, which was also negative, and another urine pregnancy test on the 32nd day, and it was negative again. Normally, my cycle is pretty regular at 27-28 days. So now Im wondering, how many days after stopping Duphaston should I expect my period to start?
After stopping Duphaston, you can expect your periods to resume within 3-7 days, as Duphaston is a progesterone medication that regulates menstrual cycles, and its withdrawal typically triggers menstruation; given your regular 27-28 day cycle, you may experience your period around 3-5 days after stopping Duphaston, but this can vary from person to person.
