I'm waking up really early in the morning and almost immediately start coughing. I went to see the doctor, and they told me everything seems fine, even my CT scan was clear. I'm starting to think that maybe it's because I'm swallowing my mouth water before I brush my teeth. Could that actually be irritating my throat and causing me to cough? It's strange because no one else around me seems to be having this issue. Is there something wrong with my mouth water that's causing this? I'm just a bit worried and can't figure out what could be happening.

I've had a deviated septum and sinus blocks for almost two years now with constant colds and throat infections. I've been doing saline washes, warm compresses, and steam which help but my doctor recommended sinus drainage and correction surgery. I'm really nervous about surgery especially since I have two little kids and can't afford long recovery time. Will sticking to these home remedies clear the mucus completely or is there still a risk of infection? How long would recovery take if I do go for surgery could it be just a couple days or longer?

Given your long-standing deviated septum and sinus blocks, along with frequent colds and throat infections, it's important to seek professional medical advice. While saline washes can help manage symptoms, they may not address the underlying structural issues contributing to your problems. Consult an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist for a thorough examination and personalized treatment plan, which may include surgical correction of the deviated septum or other procedures to address sinus blockages.

My mom is 66 and has severe asthma. She's had a pleomorphic adenoma in her parotid gland for 20 years and was advised to get a superficial parotidectomy. But her pulmonologist said local anesthesia would be safer due to her lung condition. We're in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh can you recommend a surgeon who can do this procedure under local anesthesia?

For superficial parotidectomy under local anesthesia, consult major ENT hospitals in Visakhapatnam—seek anesthesiologist with high-risk surgery experience.
