Is it normal to platelet count 398000 after a dengue infection?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Yes, initially the patient will have a high-grade fever and the platelet count will start dropping eventually.

I am a 33 year old science graduate. I know that fever and high WBC count are defense mechanisms of our body to protect from infection. But my CBC blood report showed a low WBC count, and I have had fever for 5 days. How are low WBC count and fever related to each other?

Hi Doctor, I have been experiencing headache, eye pain, fever, stomach pain, red skin spots, body pain, leg pain, and occasional nosebleeds. Four days ago, I consulted a doctor, underwent a CBC test, and was told it was viral fever. However, now I have noticed red skin spots and rare nosebleeds, which are making me concerned. I would like to know if this could be dengue or just viral fever, and whether dengue is curable. I have attached my CBC report (done 4 days ago) along with the prescriptions I am currently taking. Please advise if the current treatment is sufficient or if I should undergo further tests or treatment.
