I've been dealing with a dry cough for the past ten days and it's starting to really worry me. The doctors prescribed medications like Allegra M, Zerodol SP, Hetrazan, Medlor, and Azithromycin, but they don't seem to be working well. Plus, Ive been sweating excessively. Dry cough tends to be a common issue for me. Could you tell me if there's something else I should try or be concerned about?

Persistent Gas Problem

Next Steps

  1. Re-evaluate diet: Keep a food diary to identify trigger foods, and consider a low-FODMAP diet.
  2. Increase fiber intake: Gradually add fiber-rich foods to help regulate bowel movements.
  3. Probiotics: Consider adding probiotics to your diet, either through supplements or probiotic-rich foods like yogurt.
  4. Further testing: Discuss further testing with your doctor, such as:
    • Endoscopy or colonoscopy
    • Lactose or fructose intolerance tests
    • SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth) breath test
  5. Specialized care: If symptoms persist, consider consulting a gastroenterologist for specialized care.

Lifestyle Changes

  1. Eat smaller, more frequent meals: Reduce symptoms by eating smaller meals.
  2. Avoid trigger foods: Identify and avoid foods that exacerbate symptoms.
  3. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help with digestion.
  4. Exercise regularly: Regular physical activity can help alleviate symptoms.

Please Note

  1. Consult your doctor: Before making any significant changes to your diet or lifestyle.
  2. Seek emergency care: If you experience severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or bloody stools.

My dad's 72 and already has some heart issues. Recently, he's been dealing with fluid retention in his lungs, and even though he's on all the necessary medications and seeing a cardiologist, we're not seeing much improvement. He can't sleep well, isn't eating much, and seems to be getting weaker. We're really worried. Do you think we should consult a pulmonologist to help with his breathing, or is there something else we should be looking into to help him feel better?

I'm really worried and need some advice. Every morning when I gargle and cough, I end up vomiting, and there's blood in it. It's like clear sticky sputum with blood streaks. This mainly happens when I force myself to vomit after coughing once or twice, and I get a bloody taste in my throat. But if I don't cough and just vomit voluntarily on an empty stomach, there's no blood, just clear sticky mucus. Is this what they call pseudohemoptysis? Could this be happening because of trauma from coughing too hard? What should I do?

Sputum for AFB and microscopy,x-ray chest pa view, complete blood count, esr and C-reactive protein is advised to the patient.
