I've been dealing with some discomfort since I had an IV put in during my recent hospital visit. There's a pretty bad bruise and the area has been painful for about a week now. I'm really starting to get worried about it. Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it normal for this to happen?

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing pain and bruising after the IV. It's normal to feel some discomfort, but if it's been a week and you're still in pain or notice increased swelling, redness, or warmth around the area, it might be a good idea to consult a doctor to rule out any complications.
