I've been dealing with a stomach ache for the past couple of days, and it's really starting to worry me. The pain only lasts a few minutes each time it hits, but it's happening multiple times a day at random intervals. It feels like something's tightening up inside my stomach and squeezing it hard for a moment. What could be causing this? Any advice would be really appreciated.

Possible Early Pregnancy Symptoms*

  1. Sleepiness: Fatigue is a common early pregnancy symptom due to hormonal changes.
  2. Watery vaginal discharge: Increased estrogen levels can cause changes in vaginal discharge.

Natural Causes

  1. Hormonal fluctuations: Sleepiness and vaginal discharge changes can occur due to natural hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle.
  2. Pre-menstrual symptoms: Some women experience fatigue and vaginal discharge changes before their period.

Next Steps

  1. Wait for 5 more days: Until your expected period date to see if you miss your period.
  2. Take a pregnancy test: If you miss your period or experience other symptoms like nausea, breast tenderness, or food cravings.

I'm having this pain on the right side of my chest whenever I swallow, even when I just drink water. It gets worse when I burp too. This all began about three weeks ago after a pill my ENT doctor recommended got stuck in my throat, and it almost made me vomit. Since then, the pain just hasn't gone away. What could be causing this, and what should I do?

It sounds like you may be experiencing esophageal irritation or inflammation due to the pill getting stuck in your throat. This can lead to chest pain, especially when swallowing. To help alleviate your symptoms, you can try taking over-the-counter antacids like Tums or Maalox to reduce stomach acid and relieve the pain. Additionally, you can take a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole (Prilosec) to further reduce acid production in your stomach. Make sure to drink plenty of water and avoid spicy or acidic foods that can worsen your symptoms. If the pain persists or worsens, please seek medical attention for further evaluation and treatment.

I'm 50 years old and just got my bilirubin test results back. The total is 2.4 and direct is 1.1. I'm really worried. Is this considered very high? What should I do next?

Your bilirubin test results, with a total bilirubin of 2.4 mgdL and direct bilirubin of 1.1 mgdL, are slightly elevated, but not alarmingly high, as the normal range is typically 0.1-1.2 mgdL for direct bilirubin and 0.2-1.3 mgdL for total bilirubin, so consult your doctor to discuss potential causes, such as liver inflammation, bile duct obstruction, or hemolysis, and determine the best course of action.

I'm trying to figure out if it's better to take ursodeoxycholic acid and silybon 70 before or after eating. Also, how many times should I be taking them each day? Feeling a bit unsure here.

A Widal test titer of 1:180 indicates a positive result for typhoid. Severity is determined by symptoms, not just the test result. Consult your doctor for guidance. Precautions: Rest, hydration, and good hygiene. Avoid: Rawundercooked foods, unpasteurized dairy, and untreated water. Take antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor.
