I've been dealing with a viral fever for over a week now, and it's stubbornly stuck around 100F. Despite taking pyrigesic 650 mg and some antibiotics, there hasn't been any improvement. Why isn't my fever going down? Should I be worried about anything else?

I'm having these unrelenting hiccups for the past day. It's really getting uncomfortable. Could you please recommend any remedies or medications to help me get rid of them?

you can try these home remedies: Hold your breath for as long as possible. Drink cold water slowly or all at once. Swallow a teaspoon of sugar or honey. Breathe into a paper bag. Gargle with cold water. Eat a spoonful of peanut butter. If these don't work, medications like antacids, metoclopramide, or chlorpromazine can be used under a doctor's guidance.

My puppy is really young and going through the teething phase. It seems to bite everything, including my hands and feet. Just a day ago, it tried to bite me, and when I moved my hand away, its teeth scratched me, causing a bit of bleeding. On the same day, it also scratched me while playing, and it drew blood again. I know the puppy's mom is a stray and she wasn't vaccinated, but the puppy hasn't had any other contact with outside animals except for her. Do you think I need a rabies shot because of these scratches? Should my siblings be concerned if they've played with the puppy and were bitten, even if there wasn't any bleeding? It's been two days since the scratch. What should I do?

Rabies transmission from a scratch is very unlikely, especially if there was no saliva contact with the wound. If the puppy seems healthy and is not exhibiting symptoms of rabies, you do not need a rabies shot at this time. Your siblings are at low risk as long as they were not bitten deeply or exposed to saliva on open wounds. It's always safer to clean the wounds well and seek advice from a doctor or local health authorities if you are still concerned.
