I've been diagnosed with sinus disease and my doctor recommended FESS surgery but I haven't tried any first-line antibiotics yet except montek LC. My symptoms are PND, stuffy nose, and sore throat but no major pain or discomfort. Is surgery really necessary without exploring other treatments first?

I'm pretty worried because my mom just had an endoscopy and they found her left vocal cord isn't working right the report mentioned something about left side vocal cord paralysis. I've had a chest X-ray and an endoscopy of my throat, and everything seemed okay. The doctor performed a nose endoscopy and cauterized it, and it didn't bleed for four days. But now, I'm seeing a few drops of fresh blood in my spit only in the mornings. The doctor mentioned this could be due to dryness in my nose and might take around 30 days to heal. What do you think about this? Is there anything else I should be doing, or any other reasons this might be happening?
