I've been experiencing stomach pain in the upper left area, and it seems to get worse after I eat or walk more than usual. I'm not sure what's causing it, but it's really uncomfortable, especially with the gas problem I have. Could this be something serious, or is there anything I can do to relieve the pain?

Accidental Ingestion of Maggots

Immediate Action

  1. Stay calm: Maggots are unlikely to cause significant harm.
  2. Drink water: Hydrate yourself to help flush out your system.
  3. Monitor your health: Watch for symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain.

Possible Risks

  1. Intestinal myiasis: Rarely, maggots can infest the intestines.
  2. Gastrointestinal upset: You may experience temporary stomach discomfort.

When to Seek Medical Attention

  1. Severe symptoms: If you experience intense abdominal pain, vomiting, or bloody stools.
  2. Persistent symptoms: If symptoms last longer than 24-48 hours.
  3. Fever: If you develop a fever over 101.5F (38.6C).

Prevention

  1. Wash fruits thoroughly: Always clean fruits before consumption.
  2. Inspect fruits: Check for visible signs of spoilage or infestation.

I've been having some pretty bad gastric issues lately. There's a lot of gas, and my blood pressure is up at 180100. It's been going on for the last 24 hours, and my ECG came back abnormal. I'm also experiencing severe pain in my epigastric area. What could be going on with me? What should I do next?

Given your symptoms of severe epigastric pain, high blood pressure (180100 mmHg), and an abnormal ECG, it is important to seek immediate medical attention. These symptoms could indicate a serious condition such as a cardiac event or severe gastrointestinal issue like a peptic ulcer or acute pancreatitis. Go to the nearest emergency room or contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible for a thorough evaluation and appropriate treatment.

I'm a bit concerned about my liver. I recently received an ultrasound report that says my liver is normal in size, about 14.0 cm, but there's a mild diffuse increase in echogenicity, indicating grade I fatty changes. Theres no focal mass lesion or IHBR dilatation seen. Should I be worried about these findings? What exactly does "mild diffuse increase in echogenicity" mean, and what are grade I fatty changes? Is there something specific I should be doing or monitoring because of this, or are these changes considered normal?

The liver is of normal size (14.0 cm) and demonstrates mild diffuse fatty changes, which are likely grade I in severity. There are no signs of any focal masses or bile duct dilatation. This suggests early-stage fatty liver changes without any significant abnormalities.
