I've been having this strange craving to eat slate pencils and I'm not sure if it's harmful or not. I'm really curious if there's something safe I can have instead to stop these cravings. Can you suggest anything?

I've been having this chest discomfort that's mostly in the center, but sometimes it's a bit on the left side too. Plus, there's this back pain right in the middle of my back. Last year I talked to a gastroenterologist and had an endoscopy and a chest X-ray. They didn't spot anything except a gastric problem. But here I am, a year later, feeling the same kind of discomfort again. What could be going on? Should I be worried, or is this something common that happens with gastric issues?

I'm a 21-year-old guy with a sliding hiatal hernia, and my doctor said surgery isn't needed right now. I really want to start going to the gym but I'm worried about making my condition worse. Can I still do workouts or should I avoid certain exercises? Feeling pretty down about this and need some guidance.

For sliding hiatal hernia, you can still work out, but avoid exercises that strain the abdomen, such as heavy lifting or intense core workouts. Focus on low-impact activities, and discuss with your doctor for a safe exercise plan.

My friend was diagnosed with a small hiatus hernia after an endoscopy, and the doctor mentioned surgery isn't needed but suggested an anti-reflux mucosectomy procedure using a laser. He's been dealing with chest pain and breathing issues because of the hernia would this endoscopic treatment actually help relieve his symptoms? Is it worth considering?
