I've been having this strange feeling like I need to cough, but nothing really comes out. Sometimes it's like there's this jelly-like substance when I do manage to cough. Plus, my neck and back have been hurting on and off. Should I be worried about this? What could be causing these symptoms?

View allI've recently had a punctured and collapsed lung from a stab wound, and it's only been a week since I was discharged from the hospital. I know I shouldn't smoke since it might collapse my lung again or cause breathing issues. But I've noticed I'm coughing up a bit of blood lately. I started vaping as an alternative and am wondering if that's causing the blood in my cough. Could vaping be the reason, or is this something else I should be worried about?
