I've been looking into limb lengthening surgery to increase height and heard doctors prescribe bone growth medication during the process. Since the surgery involves breaking the bone and letting it regrow in the gap, I'm wondering if taking those same medications without surgery could still help bones grow and increase height naturally. I'm 39 years old is that even possible at my age?

No medicine can increase your height without surgery. If you are determined to increase your height then you have to go with limb lengthening surgery. But I also warn you it is not a easy surgery and chance of post operative pain and complications are high

I partially tore my ACL while playing soccer and I'm worried if it'll heal on its own or if I need surgery. Can physiotherapy fix it or is surgery the only option? I don't want to rush into an operation if rest and rehab can do the trick.

Only grade 3 ACL tear require surgery.Conservative tt is advised to the patient.

My 95-year-old grandfather has had severe knee pain for 15 years, and sometimes his joints lock up so badly he can't stand. Surgery isn't an option at his age are there any other treatments that could help ease his pain?

For a 95-year-old with severe knee pain and locking, focusing on pain management and improving function is crucial. Options include: Pain Management: Medications: Over-the-counter pain relievers (like acetaminophen or ibuprofen) and, if necessary, stronger pain medications under a doctor's supervision can help manage pain. Topical treatments: Creams or gels containing NSAIDs can provide targeted pain relief. Cold and Heat Therapy: Applying ice for short periods (15-20 minutes) can reduce inflammation and pain, while heat can help relax muscles. Injections: Corticosteroid injections into the knee joint can temporarily reduce inflammation and pain.
