I've been noticing a weird smell in both my nose and mouth, and it's really bothering me. It's like an irritating scent that just wont go away. I even tried applying Vicks, but the smell still comes back. Any ideas on what might be causing this or how I can get rid of it?

I've been feeling this mild pain on the left side of my throat, but only when I yawn. It's weird because swallowing food doesn't hurt at all. This has been happening on and off for the past week. The pain seems to be on the outside rather than inside my throat, and there's no swelling that I can see. What could this be? Is there something I should be worried about?

Could be due to muscle strain or irritation. Since you do not experience pain while swallowing food and there is no swelling in your throat, it is less likely to be an infection. You can try taking over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil) to help with the discomfort. Additionally, you can try using throat lozenges or gargling with warm salt water to soothe the area. If the pain persists or worsens, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation.

I'm about 20 days post-SeptoplastyMMA surgery and I'm wondering if it's okay for me to start wearing a mask. Should I be looking for any specific type of mask or will any mask work?

Given the persistent symptoms, it's essential to consult a specialist. Schedule an appointment with an: - ENT specialist (Ear, Nose, and Throat) - Gastroenterologist (for potential GERD) Before the appointment, prepare by: - Writing down symptoms and duration - Tracking triggers and relieving factors - Gathering medical history and previous treatments A thorough examination and diagnostic tests (e.g., endoscopy, pH monitoring) will help determine the underlying cause.

I'm waking up every morning with a sore throat, and I notice white mucus, plus my mouth and lips feel really dry. On top of that, I'm getting pain in my teeth and jaw, and feeling fatigued, with headaches sometimes. What could be causing all these symptoms?

May indicate symptoms of a possible sinus infection or post-nasal drip. I recommend taking an over-the-counter antihistamine like Claritin (loratadine) 10mg once daily to help with the mucus production and throat irritation. Additionally, you can use a saline nasal spray to help moisturize your nasal passages and relieve dryness. For the pain in your teeth and jaw, you can take ibuprofen (Advil) 400mg every 6-8 hours as needed for pain relief. Make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day and get adequate rest to help with fatigue. If symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and management.
