I've had a mucocele for about a month now it keeps going away and coming back every week. It's a clear bump with no pain. I really don't want surgery are there other ways to get rid of it?

My friend has an underdeveloped left maxilla and mandible causing a deviated smile and nose. He's considering orthognathic surgery but his parents are really anxious about it now they're both asking me to help convince the other. I'm trying to understand what complications could happen during or after the surgery and how long the post-op care might take
