I've noticed I have a lot of thin vertical lines on my nails, and there's always one or two thick, noticeable ones on each fingernail. Its kind of worrying me because I have had tests done, like thyroid, x-ray, sugar, blood and urine tests, and everything has come back normal. Can you help me figure out what might be going on?

View allI'm a bit concerned because the skin around my waist and knees is noticeably darker compared to the rest of my body. I'm fairly light-skinned, so it really stands out. Is there a way to even out the complexion in those areas to match the rest of my skin?
The darker skin in the waist and knee regions could be due to a condition called acanthosis nigricans, which is often associated with insulin resistance or obesity. To help improve the complexion in these areas, you can try using a topical cream containing hydroquinone, which can help lighten the skin. You can apply a cream like Melalite cream or Skinlite cream once daily in the affected areas. Additionally, using a sunscreen with a high SPF daily can also help prevent further darkening of the skin. Remember to consult a dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
