It is better not to smoke. If you are craving for nicotine one idea is to use chewable nicotine. If not possible taking one or two is better than going back to normal level of smoking. No direct link between your surgery and smoking. Smoking can affect your airways and cause irritative cough which can affect the stitches and may worsen the pain.
So you decide what’s best for you. Next Steps May be this could be the right time to quit smoking if your body and mind permits Health Tips Nicotine gums or patches.

View allIt's been 3 months since my fistula surgery but the wound still hasn't healed completely - is this normal or could there be an underlying issue causing the delay in healing?
It's not uncommon for fistula wounds to take a few months to heal completely, and a delay in healing can be due to various factors. While a 3-month healing period isn't inherently abnormal, it's important to address any concerns you have with your healthcare provider. They can assess the wound, identify potential underlying issues, and recommend appropriate management.

can homeopathic medicine actually cure pilonidal sinus or is surgery the only option i really want to avoid going under the knife if possible
Yes, pilonidal sinus can often be treated without surgery, especially in early stages or mild cases. Non-surgical options include draining the cyst, injections, antibiotics, and laser therapy

Post-surgical recurrent fistula needs imaging like MRI pelvis to check tract; antibiotics and sitz baths help but surgery like LIFT or laser is more curative.
