Hello Doctor, I am a 24 year old male experiencing persistent knee pain along with occasional hip discomfort. I then visited a rheumatologist who prescribed SAAZ 1000 mg, Zycel 200 mg, and administered a Solumedrol injection. The pain subsided for a while, but after about a month, it returned. I had stopped all medications by then and went back to an orthopaedic doctor, who prescribed Mexate 7.5 mg once a week. My blood test showed that HLA B27 is positive, but all other parameters were within the normal range. I am now confused about whether this is spondyloarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, I have a personal concern, I masturbate daily, and I would like to know if this could have any effect on my joint or knee pain.

Mom is experiencing pain and swelling in her hand near the thumb with the palm facing downward. Hand movement is also restricted and she has pain in the knee. As per the X ray she has knee osteoarthritis. Her blood report shows a high CRP level of 27.1. Requesting suggestions from a rheumatologist.

Elevated CRP suggests active inflammation. Pain around the thumb could indicate De Quervains tenosynovitis or arthritis. Knee osteoarthritis can be managed conservatively or with injections. A rheumatologist review is recommended. Get done CRP and RA factor tests done.
