A mild increase in lymphocytes and white blood cells also known as leukocytosis, often reflects recent infections or inflammation. A count of 5.67 is slightly above normal but not worrisome if you are otherwise healthy. Monitor the trend with repeat tests. I recently received my routine checkup report, but since I am not from a medical background, I tried to look up the meaning of the tests online to see if everything is normal. I have attached my blood report. The report includes the remark, Alert, Predominantly normocytic normochromic with ovalocytes. Platelets appear adequate in smear. I also have a family history of thyroid issues and am currently taking medication for it. Could you please explain what these findings mean and if there is any cause for concern?
