My dad has a full ACL tear but just needs to walk normally without heavy activity is surgery the only option or are there other ways to manage it
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
While surgery is often recommended for full ACL tears, especially for those with high activity levels, nonsurgical management may be an option for individuals who primarily need to walk normally without engaging in strenuous activities. The decision to proceed with surgery or nonsurgical management depends on various factors, including activity level, age, overall health, and the presence of other knee injuries.

View allit's been a year since my tibial plateau surgery with a 6 inch plate and I still get pain when standing for around 10 minutes - is this normal or should I be concerned about how it's healing?
It's understandable to be concerned about persistent pain after a tibial plateau fracture surgery, even after a year. While some degree of pain and stiffness is expected during recovery, prolonged pain warrants further evaluation. It's crucial to consult your surgeon or orthopedic specialist to determine the cause of your pain and discuss potential next steps.

My left elbow was fractured when I was a kid but didn't heal properly, so now my arm isn't straight. If I get surgery to fix it, will it look and feel natural? Is surgery a good long-term solution for this?
Yes, surgery can be a good long-term solution for a malunion (incorrectly healed) elbow fracture. The goal is to realign the bone and improve function. While surgery can significantly improve the look and feel of your elbow, it's unlikely to be completely natural, and some limitations in range of motion or strength are possible
